Utilizing proven methods.
Acknowledging and building on the concept that accomplishment is a horse that is relaxed and knows he took a step in the right direction.
Horses and riders often benefit learning together, so we encourage owners to participate in the training program, and often suggest a combination of training and riding lessons.
-
At CHF training is progressive, building on what the horse knows and reasonably can be expected to do.
-
Horses are live creatures and don’t always fit into the schedule we may have set out for the day, so immediate problems are solved first.
-
Ulla is always willing to modify the days’ goals based on behavior or problems with the horse.
-
Training sessions are never drilled and drilled until things go sour. Once the horse has done what is being asked for,
or takes a new step in the right direction the session is ended.
-
Training sessions are always ended on a good note, and with praise.
In the instance that the horse doesn’t come through within reasonable time, Ulla will go a step back and find
something that the horse can do with confidence. When that is achieved, praise is given and the session is ended.
-
The value of small daily successes leads to greater training progress and a solid foundation that will always be with the horse.
