09/08/2007: More Show results
Good results keep coming in:
-
Patty Juranty and Shiloh have continued to show 1st level at MRF and SNHDCTA shows. They show progress every time and consistently place 1st or 2nd. They should be ready to move on soon.
-
Our foals and a mare have been at GOV inspection. Isabella entered the Main Mare book and her foal Olympia got premium status. The judges praised them both for their conformation and gaits.
-
Karen and Artie have done a couple more shows and do well. Artie is still young and can get distracted, but their performance is improving consistently. Training level is within sight next year.
08/14/2007: Show results
Our students keep getting good results when they are showing:
-
Patty Juranty and Shiloh have continued to show 1st level. At SNHDCTA they placed 1st in 1st Level Test 1 and 3rd in 1st Level Test 2. At MRF the improved even further with a 1st place in 1st Level Test 1 and 2nd place in Test 2. Congratulations.
-
Abby Geick and Mackay did their first training level tests 1 and 2 at a pony club camp. Their scores were 75% and 72% respectively so they won both tests and got the judges award. I am so proud of the two of you!
-
Karen Juranty and her 4 year old gelding Artie have been out at their very first shows doing intro tests and did great. Most important was that Artie was relaxed and accepting of the situation, but a blue ribbon to top off the day made for an even better experience. Keep up the good work.
07/04/2007: Shows and training
Our boarders and students are doing well with their horses. Some have started showing, others are getting ready to show and some are happy to stay on the farm and enjoy their animals. The good work everybody is doing will eventually become remarkable results, so let's recognize a few accomplishments here:
-
Patty Juranty and Shiloh gave 1st Level Test 2 a careful first attempt and ended up with 63% and a 2nd place. Congratulations.
-
Abby Geick and Mackay have competed in games and pony club shows, where they keep getting ribbons. Good job.
-
Lynda Bloomberg is riding Emma. They have been out for a clinic where Emma was very relaxed, and her old nervousness didn't show up at all.
07/04/2007: New pictures coming soon
We will be posting updated pictures on these pages. Every picture will be accompanied by a caption and cen be enlarged when clicked. Check back soon!
07/04/2007: Foals
We said "Welcome to the world" to two new foals this spring. Don de la Vega and Olympia are both doing great, and are growing at an incredible pace.
-
Isabella gave birth in March to Olympia - a beautiful, kind and smart filly.
-
Three weeks later Copy delivered Don de la Vega - a very elegant and well tempered colt.
07/04/2007: Ulla and her horses
Ulla purchased Vidam around Christmas - a very promising 5 year old Hungarian Warmblood. They spent a few very beneficial months in Florida this Winter training with Pierre St. Jacques.
-
Vidam is growing again (despite his 17 hands), so they are taking it easy for the moment and may not be showing this year.
-
Ulla's 4th level horse Volume has been out of work for the past year due to unexplained lameness, but he finally seems to have recovered. He is starting back to work slowly and CHF is hoping that he will be ready for at least one show this season.
Training and daily work is very exciting right now! Though they might not do much showing this year, if things continue to go as they are now, they will all be ready for 2008.
07/04/2007: What happened in 2006?
About a year ago we added this news page with the best intentions of keeping it up to date with show results and things going on at CHF. Reality was that we got preoccupied with riding, training, breeding, taking care of horses and barn etc., so we never found the time to keep the news up to date. There were plenty of good results and events that we could have posted, so here's a short recap of the 2006 show season:
-
Abby Geick and Mackay did great no matter where they went and they were all over the place doing games, dressage and jumping.
-
Patty Juranty and Shiloh showed Training and 1st Level with excellent rides and scores. They achieved the 1st Level High Score Award at the MRF dressage show series.
-
Jens and Magic, as well as Anne Paquin and Fancy, had some really good rides at MRF and Dana Hill. So much has happened since than that I don't remember their placings, but I know I was very satisfied with their rides.
